Don Garlits sets record in Electric dragster. I have a soft spot for Garlits. He came to town in the 1970's and had hurt his exhibition engine and came to the shop I was working in and had me weld the head and put a couple of seats in it and then we did a valve job on it for him. He then took us to lunch where we had a nice2 hour talk with him. Nice guy.

At the NASRA Spring National Scooter Races last weekend, a gentleman showed up in Shelby NC all the way from Florida. He had painstakingly adapted this electric motor to his Yamaha Vino... I think he had the fastest ET's out of everyone there!

Very silent ... I think that new technologies are sacrificing emotion, example the new formula 1, which no longer hear the beautiful sound of the V-8 and V-10.
Sorry my english mistakes.
