How to go through the blower box wall

Post by John Doney »

I've come to the point in my build where I need to run power through the blower box wall. It seems like most people are using "all-thread" in one way or another. I'm curious what people are using to do this with? Any ideas would be a great help!

A tiny bit of air leakage into or out of the blower box is not going to effect measurement accuracy.
The amount of air lost will be absolutely minimal, so you could feed normal round PVC sheathed appliance cable through a plain drilled hole, if the hole size is carefully chosen to be a nice sliding fit.
All thread with nuts and large washers is a popular choice too.
Also known as the infamous "Warpspeed" on some other Forums.

What Tony says make perfect sense, the leaks would be minimal with just a tight hole. I use nuts and bolts sealed with liquid nails to go through the wall.

I drilled holes that were just a little bit smaller for each wire then used just a very small amount
caulking on the wires on the inside then moved the wire just a little to make it seal around the wire
works great plus the wires remain one continuous run from main power to the vacuum motors . :)

Nice video of your flow bench running it sounds awesome :D

I use a IP65 or more cable-pass nut,filled with sylicone.
and the wall of bench threaded and this nut screwed into it.
In past I post photo of this nut,in this forum.
