Is my air supply appropriate

Post by Latestarter1 »

Hi guys,

I have been chewing over building a flowbench for a few months now. I have just purchased a bench which I think will make a good basis so I am ready to kick off.

However pricing up to 6 vac motors and their cost AND power consumption I am tempted to look at somthing I already have:

A large Rootes blower direct drive with 3 phase 7.5 kW 2,800 rpm motor. Blower is a Wade SR044 60-935 cubic meters/Hr at 830 millibar. Unit came from a test test rig to flow test large truck exhausts. Thought was that if I use a phase converter to run the motor off 220 VAC I can have infinate speed control.

Is my concept plain nunts, you do not have to be gentle with me.
