automatic motor controller

hope im not treading on toes here ...after reading this thread ..

it seems that if i have a big motor ,a vfd and a pot to control motor speed ,then i am well on the way to having automatic depression control.

according to tony in the thread,, i now need a closed loop controller ,to feed the 0 to 10v to the vfd , ,and vary said voltage in relation to the set test pressure .

did the pts controller get built ,or is this a project in the making at the moment .?( i seem to be hopelessly incapable, so far, in finding data )

It is built, a few are in use, I have parts to build more

I've not taken the time to actually bring this project to the forefront on the list of PTS products.

Setting it can be trial and error but once it's setup it works great! It's not something for the faint of heart who wants to tinker getting something running right. Lets say it's not "plug & play" but it's also not that hard to set once you get the hang of what's going on as it's working.

Setting the unit is done by internal DIP switch settings, one set controls how fast it reacts and the other controls how fast it stabilizes. Each unit has to be set for that particular combination of motors. Tony has written some good instructions on how it's suppose to work . . . but it does take some trial and error I have found.

so there are no units to buy at the mo , would you be able to give me a very rough idea of what they would cost if/when some get done ?

100" PID - $300.00

You will need to supply a small wall transformer with 15vdc output and a 2.1mm center pin +, I supply these for USA models but not international orders as I have no clue what base voltage each country uses. Should be ~$10 for such a unit.

I would need to know your output voltage required for your control.

I have all the parts to build them as they are built per order. Would be a week or two as I think I might be low on 100" sensors right now as I have a few 100" DM's to build this coming week. I'll be ordering more sensors this weekend.

Just a note about the above video, it's showing a wide swing of change as I was using a 4" slide valve and making some drastic flow changes to show how it works in an extreme application.

excelllent thank you bruce ,thats the info i need, i will get back to you when i have saved up a bit i think , unless i can make one from a steam kettle, a small purple glove, and a lemon ,as is my style lol.
